Embark on a captivating 4-days private desert tour that takes you from Marrakech to Fez, with a breathtaking journey through Morocco’s diverse landscapes, including the Sahara Desert. This tour is designed to offer you a unique blend of culture, adventure, and natural beauty.
Highlights:
Your journey begins early in the morning with a drive from Marrakech to Boumalne Dades via the scenic Tizi n’Tichka Pass,visiting Ait Benhaddou, an ancient fortified village and UNESCO World Heritage site. Known for its iconic red mudbrick structures.
After leaving Ait Benhaddou, your next stop is Ouarzazate, where you will visit the iconic Taourirt Kasbah, one of the most well-preserved kasbahs in Morocco, then we will move for a visit to the movie Studios, one of the largest film studios in the world, this area has been the backdrop for many famous films.
At the end of our day we will check into your hotel in Ouarzazate, where we’ll enjoy dinner and spend the night.
On our second Day, the journey begins in Ouarzazate, heading toward Merzouga through the Dades Valley. Along the way, you will stop in Kelaat Mgouna, a town famous for its rose production, especially during the annual rose festival. A little down, we’ll reach Soukora, a picturesque oasis town known for its palm groves and ancient kasbahs.
Next, we will drive towards Tinghir, a town surrounded by lush palm groves and dramatic mountain views, reaching Merzouga by afternoon. If you arrive earlier you can do the quad bike to enjoy the sunset.
Today, you’ll wake up early to catch the mesmerizing sunrise over the Erg Chebbi sand dunes. After breakfast, we suggest visiting Khamlia village to experience the soulful Gnawa music performed by the local community.
Then after you will have 2 options: you can either visit the Rissani where we can enjoy the Medfouna, or take a 4×4 excursion to discover black volcanic rock formations and ancient fossils, or visit a nomadic family living in a traditional tent to learn about their desert way of life, if you prefer a more relaxed experience, you can simply relax and enjoy the serene surroundings at the desert camp.
After breakfast in Merzouga, you’ll drive to Fez visiting the middle atlas mountains. Along the way, you’ll stop in Azrou, a town famous for its cedar forests and Barbary Macaques, the way will take you through Ifran, known as the “Switzerland of Morocco” for its alpine architecture and cool climate.
Before reaching Fez we will make a stop in Imouzzer, a small provincial town nestled among the mountains.
After this relaxing stop in the Middle Atlas, you’ll continue your journey to Fez, Morocco’s ancient imperial city, where your tour will come to an end.
